Our Sandalwood Plantations

Indian Sandalwood Farming owns two plantations: Oasis Plantation, established in 2013, and Airport Plantation, established in 2009, which is the densest and healthiest block with excellent tree survivability. The Grower lots will be located on the best block of the Airport Plantation, with a density of 324 trees per hectare.

ISF Plantations Overview

Indian Sandalwood Farming owns two large plantations. The 450 hectare Oasis Plantation, a series of blocks with Indian Sandalwood, established in 2013 and ready for harvest in 2028 earliest. The 300 hectare Airport Plantation, a joined set of blocks established with Indian Sandalwood in 2009 and ready for harvest in 2026. Airport Plantation is the oldest block, averaging 300 trees per hectare with excellent survivability, density, and tree health. ISF has been fortunate to avoid major storm damage during an extreme weather event in December 2023.

Grower Block Condition

Grower lots will be on Airport Plantation Block 31D, which is our densest and healthiest block. If we exceed the capacity of 31D then the Grower lots will be extended into 22B which is our next best block. These blocks have about 300 saleable trees per hectare, and we are expecting high-yield heartwood from these areas. These two blocks use Cassia, Cathormium and Rosewood as host trees and the sandalwood has taken well to growing alongside them. If you wish to know more about our Grower blocks, you can view the plantation condition report below.

Restoring Quintis Plantations

During the court proceedings that commenced in November 2023, Quintis ceased all work on Northern Australian sandalwood plantations. Around this time, they stopped paying for their irrigation of the sandalwood plantations. As of the end of November 2024, ISF has bought all plantations back into optimal condition and completed the recommended actions detailed in the Plantation Condition Report. Moving forward, we have prepared thorough irrigation, firebreak, spraying and delving plans for all plantations.
