About ISF

We are a Kununurra based agricultural business growing over 700 hectares of high yield Indian Sandalwood. We endeavour to help Growers and Ord Valley farmers recover from the termination of the Quintis MIS Project termination.

Our History

ISF is an agricultural business founded by Robert Boshammer after Quintis’ leases for farmland were terminated by the Federal Court. This resulted in Grower & Quintis owned sandalwood being turned over to the landowners, along with the access rights to the land. Ord Valley farmers have been faced with a quandary; either remove the sandalwood at a significant cost, or attempt to grow it until it can be harvested. Rob has chosen to harvest the sandalwood in 2028, a decision motivated by the fact that his plantations are in good health and have had very little damage from neglect and storms.

What is your relationship with Quintis?

In short, there isn’t one. The extent of Rob’s and ISF's involvement with Quintis and subsidiaries was as a lessor and investor in the MIS Projects. This has since been terminated due to unpaid land and water fees. ISF has no intention of working with Quintis in any capacity. While we own former Quintis sandalwood, they have no rights or interest in the trees that are on our land.

Harvest with Growers

ISF now maintains over 700 hectares of Indian Sandalwood around the Ord Valley, and acknowledges that this sandalwood has been established and paid for by MIS Growers under Quintis contracting. Our primary goal is to ensure this sandalwood is all harvested by 2028 to free up the farmland, and mitigate the costs of removal and land rehabilitation. However, we also wish to offer MIS Growers the opportunity to maintain their allotment of sandalwood as their Projects have been terminated. If you are a MIS Grower that wishes to continue your investment in sandalwood, we can organise a land rental & maintenance contract for an equivalent allotment on our best plantations.

Why make the offer?

Many of the landowners (mostly family farming businesses) weren't prepared to care for hundreds of hectares of sandalwood. The sandalwood ties up much of our productive farmland, costing us between $9k—$12k/ha to restore. We want the sandalwood off our land, but tearing it up will be a waste and leave Growers with nothing. ISF is fortunate in that the sandalwood we have is close to maturity and has sustained little damage. This puts us in an ideal position to grow out the sandalwood and sell it to cover the expenses of removal and land rehabilitation, while also offering Growers the profit that their allotment produces. We believe this offer makes the most of a horrible situation for both sides.
